Good, strong interactive session few places left – Hasselt, Belgium 24 – 28 August
According to Professor Geoffrey Lipman, Convenor of the 2nd Green Growth and Travelism Summer School this is a perfect time and opportunity for managers in the industry, consultants and postgraduate students to evaluate the essential changes that the Travelism sector (Travel & Tourism) will have to make in the coming years.
Join for all or part of the 2nd Green Growth and Travelism Summer School at the University of Hasselt in the last week of August.
There are still a few places left in what promises to be the most timely and informative session on Travel, Tourism and the post 2015 Climate / Sustainable Development Agenda.
It promises to be a very good, strong and interactive learning session and it comes at a time when the international community is charting a new Green Growth path.
The school is focused on the post 2015 Transformation Agenda following the 3 pivotal Heads of State Summits on Development Financing, Sustainable Development Goals and Climate Change. “In 40 years of International Travelism activity and 20 promoting sustainable development, I have never seen a more focused transformation policy reality, nor potential for a genuine multi-decade paradigm shift to a more renewable energy based, resource efficient, sharing, caring world.”
This is a perfect time and opportunity for managers in the industry, consultants and postgraduate students to evaluate the essential changes that the Travelism sector (Travel & Tourism) will have to make in the coming years. “We don’t have options, this is a societal change, we either join and shape or get left behind….the time for growth blinkers and sustainability cosmetics is over.”
The 4 day “school” is full of interactive lectures from top class academics and practitioners in the field from Europe, Australia & Asia - issues covered include green growth, measuring benefits/impacts, climate change, adaptation financing, CSR, Certification +, big data etc. See below and www.uhasselt.be/GGTsummerschool
There will also be special sessions on the Nepal Disaster Response and the SUN Green Growth transformation system that links solar energy, cloud based communications and smart community delivery. The school also features visits to the European Parliament and Hoge Kempen - Belgium’s National Park, with its internationally acclaimed lead Ignace Schops, who is one of our School Directors.
So please do take a look at the program below, we are looking forward to welcoming some 50 students and lecturers to green Limburg and the University’s campus – in a beautifully restored “city jail” in the heart of the delightful ancient city of Hasselt
